Another Year Older

Another Year Older Image

This week I celebrate another birthday. I have always loved birthdays, whether mine or a friends, as they are the perfect excuse to stop saying “no” to the things you want and open another bottle of champagne! Most importantly, they are a chance to begin a new chapter while gleaning the wisdom from the last.

And so just as I do each October, I have been thinking about where I’ve come this last year, what I’ve accomplished and the hurdles I’ve made it over. But more importantly, I have been thinking a lot about how I picture my life one year from now.

My re-established effort to be inspired and live intentionally could not have come at a better time. I noticed recently that my spirits have entered a lull and I’m not as on-fire as I was before. But I’m tired of living with dampened spirits! And I miss feeling like the world is mine to conquer. With a clean slate for a new year, there is no better time to shape up and make the next 365 days the best ones yet!

So with Diptyque candlelight, a bottle of chilled Deutz Brut Rosé and a chocolate treat from Pierre Hermé (my favorite), I’m going to spend my birthday creating a vision board to shape my reality and a list of steps to reach my reignited goals – just as I did just over two years ago as a new graduate dreaming of returning to France and getting a masters degree in the Art Market (and here I am).

Oh hey, if I’m up early working on this, I can have my champagne with breakfast, right?

    Happy Birthday!
Yes, drink up with morning champagne! You only live once and an opened bottle should never go to waste lol.
Excited to see what the next year brings for you.

Happy birthday! I hope you have a lovely day 🙂
I think it’s very easy in ex-pat life to have these ups and downs, so I’m glad that you have something new to inspire you!

Happy birthday! I love the idea of visualizing dreams and goals — I truly believe that’s how they come true. Looking forward to seeing your plans come to fruition on this blog in the coming weeks and months!
